Missing Scene Shots
(UPDATED Sept 2005) The following shots are taken from one of the missing scenes of The Trial, in which Joseph K talks with a scientist played by Katina Paxinou. The scene, which can be glimpsed in the trailer for the film, was cut at the last minute.This scene is set between Joseph's meeting with Irmie and Joseph's first meeting with Bloch. Dialogue for the scene is provided under the relevant shot and is taken from Welles' script, rather than the published book of the film, which features incorrect dialogue. My thanks to Stefan Drössler and Andrea Kirchhartz for providing it. The scene opens with the employees filing out for the day, leaving only Joseph working at a desk. He completes some paperwork, looks around, and climbs onto his desk. He begins stepping from desk to desk, eventually skipping along the desks. He is stopped when the Scientist appears, and he follows her to the company's computers. The dialogue begins on the next page, linked at the bottom of this page.
