I think the intro to Interplanetary Stories was ghosted by Richard Wilson. My only source for this claim is the entry in the Career Section of This Is Orson Welles which lists Wilson as having ghosted a book intro in 1948 or 49 (I forget which year it says.) Just a guess, but I thought it was probably the Martian thing.

Yes, I think your right. When I read it, it really didn't sound like the other writing that Welles has done, most of which is usually very good.

Also, it's quite common for books supposedly edited by celebrties, to actually be edited and introduced by real editors. Presumably, though, Welles at least glanced at the copy before it was published.

It's a great little book. Wonderful golden age scifi shorts by the then masters of the genre, if you like that sorta thing. I like the intro, whoever wrote it. Hee hee, Maurice Bessy?
