For anyone in the Chicago area, Austin Pendleton's fine play ORSON'S SHADOW makes a return from 9/5 - 10/13 at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts.
It deals with the behind-the-scenes chaos of Welles and Laurence Olivier's 1960 production of Ionesco's Rhinocerous. I saw it a couple of years ago at Steppenwolf Theatre, when it was still in a kind of workshop form. Since then, according to Jeff Still who plays Orson Welles, it has been rewritten to some extent. This new production features the original cast. Can't wait to see it again.
