Mr. Jennings aka "Orson" e-mailed me regarding the first 2 test-trial runs of his one-man-play ORSON WELLES COMMENTARIES. With little press and only handing out flyers a couple of weeks beforehand, about 50 people attended these 2 free performances. They were both held at public libraries(!) in West Los Angeles, near Venice and Culver City. A good portion of the audiences were 50 or older and alot of them knew their Welles history. With minimal staging and old-time radio microphone in hand, the under 60-minute presentation was well received, with many of the audience members staying afterwards to ask questions. Now, Mr. Jennings is heading for a BARNES & NOBLE or BORDERS near you, as a few have shown interest in staging it. I can hardly wait to see it myself.
