Postby Jay Jennings » Sat Mar 15, 2008 2:35 pm

"CREATING KANE", my new play about Orson Welles and how he conceived the idea and screenplay for, "Citizen Kane", will be opening for a two-day run in July 2008 at The Beverly Hills Community Theatre. Times and dates to be announced. My best, Jay

"O FOR ORSON", a Welles play from 1999.

One of my previous Welles plays, "O FOR ORSON", was a one-man-show which parodied, "F For Fake", magic and all the myths that are---ORSON WELLES! It played for two weekends at Barnes & Noble and The Venice Public Library in 1999.

Welles play update!

Postby Jay Jennings » Sun Apr 20, 2008 6:38 pm

Unfortunately, the actor who was to portray, "John Houseman", in my upcoming play, "CREATING KANE", has taken ill, so the production has been postponed indefinitely. However, in its place, I have decided to perform my one-man-play/radio show re-enactment, "ORSON WELLES ON THE AIR", which takes place circa 1946 at KHJ radio in Los Angeles, where Welles addresses the tragic case of WWII veteran, Isaac Woodard Jr. during his weekly broadcasts (which he actually did with his radio show, "Orson Welles Commentaries"). I've performed this twice before during a weekend run in 2003. It's based on actual broadcasts and newspaper accounts. Check back for updates regarding times and dates. Jay
