Ruth Warrick Is Dead - The last Citizen Kane star passes on

Discuss the passing of various Welles colleagues

It's not every day that we lose a star from CITIZEN KANE.
That only leaves little Buddy Swan as the last surviving cast member of the greatest film ever made. 64 years after the fact, everyone else is dead and gone.

What can we say, Harvey?

I suppose that those who are in her debt, and those she followed, will remain.

An understated appeal of CITIZEN KANE was Ruth Warrick's fresh elegance as Emily Norton Kane. Without saying so, she and her scenes suggested, whatever the problems caused by Emily's class-based snobbery, Charlie Kane could be a jerk.

The only thing to say is:
"And, as it must to all women, death came to Emily Norton Kane."
Ruth Warrick was also the last surviving actress from the Disney classic SONG OF THE SOUTH.

That's so ironic - Song of the South was one of my favourite movies as a kid, and Citizen Kane is one of my favourite movies as an adult.

My respect to Ruth Warrick, Rest in Peace.
You may remember me from such sites as imdb, amazon and criterionforum as Ben Cheshire.
