One Man Band

VHS, LD, or DVD

Further to my last post, above, I just remembered that there are text translators out there on the Web - so I've taken my original request to Medias Res and run it through just such a site, passing along the outcome verbatim courtesy of good ol' "copy & paste". Now, wish me luck - again!

Here's a link to the site I used, should anyone else like to have some multi-lingual fun...

...and then for a real hoot, run your translated text backwards through the same facility and see how garbled the re-created English turns out to be! lol

I just hope my message made a little more sense at the halfway point to the poor German recipient of this little experiment than it does coming back full circle.

You know, that's what's wrong with this town: there's never a Federation Universal Translator around when you need one.

If i win, i'll gladly make copies, though although videos here in the UK can now play NTSC, they don't often have the facility to record...

That said, when i was in my local photographic shop recently, i noticed they offer a service to 'convert your old videos to DVD', hopefully they'll be able to handle conversion...

That said, e-bay item 1554192125 reads:

"ORSON WELLES: THE ONE MAN BAND aka THE LOST FILMS OF ORSON WELLES (1996 - German) a documentary made with the participation of Oja Kodar featuring a collection of footage from the many uncompleted films made by Welles, including THE DEEP, MERCHANT OF VENICE, MOBY DICK, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND and several others - film is in English and is partially narrated by Kodar. This is a all-region DVD-R disc (plays in almost all DVD players, especially those made from 2000 on) apparently made from a PAL transfer tape - picture quality is decent, 7.5 to 8 on a scale of 10. Shipping is an extra $2.50 - US only, no PayPal. Thanks."
