As it happens, I scored a Raven video, so I'm finally getting a decent viewing of Treasure Island, and I give a thumbs up to Welles' er... dynamically nuanced vocal performance and acting.

Both, I suppose. It's a great performance in a great film, in a role that has become a movie icon of sorts.

I voted for Third Man.

It's cool that Lord Mountdrago has some votes! I guess people like hearing Orson sing "Daisie!" And YEARS before HAL-9000 did it!

I've seen many of these, but not all. From the movie selection that I have seen, I chose The Third Man. Though the role was not large for Welles here, it was very effective in the film, bringing across the point well. The speech on the Ferris Wheel and continued at the end of the ride by Welles (Which he scripted himself) is one of the greats in film history.

I really like his performance in Tomorrow Is Forever as well. Very emotional. Welles didn't often nail the emotions of his characters, but he sure did on that one. Maybe he was pained by the script, but at least it's an emotive performance!
