Film writer/historian R. Emmet Sweeney reviews the DVD of Around the World with Orson Welles @ MovieMorlocks.com, TCM's Classic Movie Blog – http://moviemorlocks.com/2009/07/21/vac ... on-welles/

"These travel essays, veritable home movies, are an immensely enjoyable tour through eccentric pockets of Europe," Sweeney writes. The most intriguing episode of this short-lived British TV series from 1955 focuses on expatriate American oddball Raymond Duncan. Clad in a homemade tunic and sandals, this elderly proto-Beatnik, who ran a theater in Paris, discusses America’s creeping tendency toward conformism and the decline of the west as a result of the rise of the pantaloon (!). Duncan's views on women raise interviewer Welles's eyebrow, if not his ire.

Unfortunately, Sweeney's "Vacation Tips from Orson Welles" does not pave the way for future airings of episodes of Around the World with Orson Welles on TCM.

That's from one of the Orson's Bag segments. The Filmmuseum München's restoration is called Orson Welles' Vienna.

According to Jonathon Rosenbaum's most recent Welles book, Discovering Orson Welles, the only known print of the "Third Man in Vienna" episode was reportedly burrowed by the late Maurice Bessy and never returned. So it may still exist somewhere.
