Unknown Welles ? - Will we ever see it again?

Will we ever see it or more like it again? In the States?

Does anyone know the progress of it?
Or the restorations that they spoke about at Film Forum?

Huh? Is "Unknown Welles" another title for "One Man Band" or maybe that Munich Museum restoration called "Short Films?" Maybe something new? Previously unknown Welles productions continue to surface.

He's referring to the showings of Welles materials from Munich that came over last year to a couple or so cities. I don't expect them back anytime soon, but one never knows.

Yes, I was referring to the retrospective from Munich.

The curator also indicated that he doubt we'd see those films on DVD.

But he did make reference to the fact that he think they found footage to the Deep.

Those shorts were great fun to watch. I hope I get another opportunity.

This thread reminds me of something. Last year at the Film Forum in New York, Stefan said that there were recently discovered reels of film (or maybe it was unexposed negatives?) related to The Deep. Stefan had not yet seen the material but said that he was going to see it shortly. As I recall, he had temporarily put Munich's restoration of The Deep on hold until he knew what the newly found footage was exactly.

Has anyone had any word on what that footage turned out to be? Or any other updates on the restoration of The Deep?

Does anyone have a list or description of what was shown as "The Unkown Welles?" Certainly tempting, whatever it was.

When I spoke via email with Stefan in November, he said that they were hoping to work on The Deep next year (2005), but there are some contracts that had to be settled before access is granted to those reels in Paris.
