Here's a note about some CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) radio work OW did in the 80's, totalling 6 hours:
(It finally proves that OW worked on projects with both the Gabor sisters, though not the mom!)

Jack London's Tales Of The Klondike

Sun 8:00-9:00 p.m., 16 May-7 Jun 1981
Fri 8:00-9:00 p.m., 14/21/28 May and 16 Jun 1982 ®

William Macadam's Norfolk Communications produced this series of six, one hour dramas based on the stories of Jack London. The tales included The One Thousand Dozen, directed by Peter Rowe and starring Neil Munro; In A Far Country, with Scott Hylands and Robert Carradine; Scorn Of Women, starring Eva Gabor; The Unexpected, with John Candy and Cherie Lunghi; Finis; and The Race For Number One. Orson Welles narrated the stories.

Desperate for work, Orson ventured to Canada in 1979 to play a sheriff in a tax shelter movie (Never Trust an Honest Thief/also titled Zen Business, Hot Money and Going for Broke). Orson's old buddy John Huston came up here at around the same time to direct Phobia and costar in Head On.
While in Canada, Welles kept busy. He lent his voice to a series of award-winning Uniroyal Tire commercials featuring characters from Johnny Hart's BC comic strip. I think it was while recording the voiceover for one of these commercials that Orson let loose with that notorious drunken outburst that was circulated quite a bit over the years. While in Toronto, Orson also narrated six episodes of Tales of the Klondike — not a bad series, as I recall. Too bad they didn't let Orson direct an episode, but I guess it doesn't work that way...
