I guess I've never really noticed it before, but yes, IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT is generally taken by many to be a modern updating of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. I'd always thought that this was one of the Campbell Playhouse that Welles did mainly to please his sponsor, but maybe not, with the Shakespeare connection.
