In the libraries I go to, there is a mistake. Listed under "Sherlock Holmes-classics" is a 2-casette four show packaging. According to the package, and the libraries computer, Orson Welles is "Professor Moriarty".
Well, in this certain package, it is impossible for him to be "Professor Moriarty" since neither one of the episodes contains the "Professor Moriarty" character. These are episodes that follow the episode "The Final Problem", where Orson Welles is portraying "Professor Moriarty" and John Gielgud is "Sherlock Holmes".
The first show in this messed up package is started from the time that the episode "The Final Problem" ended. So did the character of "Professor Moriarty". There are many "Professor Moriarty" men, that did his dirty work. But in neither of the four episodes in this package did "Professor Moriarty" come back. As Mr. Holmes did.
The thing that's upsetting about this is that I have told the libraries this, asking them to take his name out. I wish I knew even how to get through to the publishers for 'false advertisment'. It's got nice photos of Welles, Gielgud and Ralph Richardson on the box. And says how good he was, how famous, blah blah blah.
It's nice that they do such nice advertisement, and the photo of mr. welles was wonderful, but why don't they do that on some other cassettes where he is in them.
If others have heard these, and have found the character "Professor Moriarty" please let me know.
Bye now!
