Here's "Portrait with Symbols - Orson Welles" by the great photographer Irving Penn. ...I've never seen the portrait anywhere else. There are a couple of paragraphs about it in Peter Conrad's Welles book.
GM, the Penn photograph appeared originally in Vogue magazine, I believe. It's reproduced in the book "The Art and Technique of Color Photography", edited by Alexander Liberman and published by Simon & Schuster (1951).
It's a wonderful image, with Welles looking his matinee-idol best.
