Yeah, it can play in regular DVD player. If it is DVDR compatible.

Some people opt to use a DVDR rather than a CDR because a DVDR fits more MP3's than a CDR. Twice as many I think?? So, one can put an incredible amount of Welles radio shows on one single DVD.

Hmmm....my husband used our computer to burn a few of the entries onto a regular cd (Orson guest-hosting Jack Benny's radio show during WW2), we played it on the car cd player; but a regular cd only held 2 shows. So you can transfer the "tracks" to play on a cd player---but you'll be using up a lot of cds. Y'know, talking about first exposure to Orson: mine wasn't film or radio, but print. Before I had a computer at home, I used to go to the library to sign on. Once I was waiting my turn, and grabbed a book off a nearby shelf to pass the time. It was Barbara Leaming's biography. I ended up checking it out, and was hooked.

Which edition of the Leaming book did you read? Hopefully it was the later one with the "Thorne Rooms" epilogue. That's the best part.

Orson & Jazz, this is the first I've heard of putting MP3 files on a DVDr. Seeing as a CDr can hold up to 40 hours of material, I can't imagine what a DVDr could hold. Does anyone know where to find more info on this?

Hi Lucy, the dvd holds more than 140 hours of material....I don't know which Leaming edition I first read; it was 6 years ago. I've since acquired my own copy, though....
