Welles on editing quotation

I am looking for a quote of OW's on editing. I think it goes something like: "For me, editing is THE art of film." Or something to that effect. I could have sworn that I read it in "This is OW," but a fairly thorough search through that book has yielded no results. Anyone know the quote I'm talking about?

From Welles' 1958 interview with Andre Bazin and Charles Bitsch, he says "But for my style, for my vision of film, editing is not an aspect, it is the aspect. (emphasis as presented in book) The interview is in the Orson Welles Interviews book edited by Mark Estrin.
