Last night, I saw BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW, a fairly decent horror picture made in England in 1970. It starred the wonderful Patrick Wymark, who bore a startling resemblance to Orson Welles. Wymark is best remembered for his roles as the landlord murdered by Catherine Deneuve in Roman Polanski's REPULSION and as Oliver Cromwell in Michael Reeves' MATTHEW HOPKINS: WITCHFINDER GENERAL/THE CONQUEROR WORM.
Wymark and Welles both played Winston Churchill: Wymark in THE FINEST HOURS and A KING'S STORY (both of which were narrated by Welles); and Welles in the rarely seen Yugoslavian WW2 epic SUTJESKA.
Sadly, Wymark died shortly after completing BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW. He was only 44.
