Greetings fellow Welles-philes,
Been planning to join Wellesnet for some time. The name's Jay Jennings. Like most of you here, I'm a writer-director. Was residing in Vegas and L.A. (part-time) and even performed in a couple of one-man-shows as Mr. W. (as young Orson and with gray beard). Like most of you, I'm also a collector and certified Welles-geek and back in Vegas I hosted a little gathering of Welles aficionados (with wine and cigars-a plenty) that was videotaped for the local cable channel, where we'd all sit around, giving our opinions on a variety of Welles-related topics. The group usually numbered from 4 to 8 and even included a female (Dr.) Welles collector. Flash forward: Now residing in L.A. (full time), I've been offered the opportunity to host a similar gathering, although not always videotaped, but still room enough for 4 to 6 devoted follwers of "Voodoo MacWelles". The 'Orson Welles Society' will meet once a month at Welles Castle and if you live in Southern California, don't hesitate to e-mail me to reserve your spot. It would be great if I could video-conference these gatherings via the net, but, alas, a dream is only a dream.
