Weren't Mitterand and Jack Lang the ones that screwed Welles over in the early 80's over his proposed King Lear film?

One can't help but look in awe at how the internet has played a part in all this, especially as an amplifier for public opinion, overwhelmingly anti-Polanski. Even if by some miracle he avoids prison time, his 30-year attempt to rebuild his reputation is now probably, and hopelessly shattered for good.
