Moby Dick - Rehearsed, written by the legendary Orson Welles, will run from March 7th through 25th at the Richmond Sheperd Theatre (309 E. 26th St.).

Directed by Marc Silberschatz, the producutin will feature Philip Bartolf, Erin Cunningham, Seth Duerr, Mickey Ryan, Tony Scheinman, Tim Scott and David Skigen. It will be presented by Twenty Feet Productions.

Press materials describe the show thus: "In Orson Welles’ love letter to the theatre and its players, a Shakespearean company forgoes their rehearsal of King Lear to take on the challenge of a new play entitled Moby Dick. The stage becomes the decks of the ship on which the cast sails through the storms and tribulations of the Pequod hunting for Moby Dick."

The performance schedule is: Wed. – Sat. at 8pm, and Sun. at 3pm. Tickets are $15, and $10 for students and seniors. Call SmartTix at (212) 868-4444 or visit www.SmartTix.com for reservations.

Interesting, RayKelly. And when we speak of the Richmond Sheperd Theater, are we referring to Richmond, Virginia?

All the potential for a magnificent evening in the theater is there, in the script of Moby Dick Rehearsed. All it requires is a fairly professional cast, and a director with something of the genius of Orson Welles.

As Rawlston said: "It'll probably turn out to be a very simple thing . . ."

True, NoFake.

The source author (whom you quote in context here) seems to have made the assumption that anyone reading his original piece would naturally know that there is no other place mounting theatrical productions but in NYC.

When mentoring people on rare occasion in writing this kind material, I urge them to make no assumptions that an interested party will know what is being talked about, without minimal exposition.

Thank you for the clarification, NoFake (which still has to be read between the lines).
