My entire Welles radio/audio collection is currently on SoulSeek, for those of you who like downloading things. Download the freeware, hit the search button and enter "Orson Welles."

Is there any way to also get a copy of some of your video collection. I have been trying hard to get a copy of the drive-in movie scene in Don Quixote. Let me know. My email is rizibo@hotmail.com

I've been trying to put that clip on youtube, but I've had trouble with my software. I don't know what program people who upload videos to youtube use, but it doesn't seem to be one I have.

Could you make a copy of the drive-in movie scene in Don Quixote on a dvd for me? I can send you a blank dvd-r and a self addressed stamped package to send it to me. If it is too much trouble, I will understand. Let me know at rizibo@hotmail.com. Thanks

Hey Hadji- I've been trying to locate it on SoulSeek but can't find it. Does it only show up when you are online?

I'm online all the time. Other people have found me when they searched for Welles, so I don't know why you wouldn't.

If SoulSeek doesn't work, I'm also connected to BitComet (though I haven't added any torrents of my own yet.)

I can add the DQ movie scene as a vob or iso file. You guys should be able to play that.

At the moment, I've only got audio stuff in the share folder.

I could add some of the other rare video things, one or two at a time, but they'll be monstrously huge files and will take you several dozen hours to download. My program for converting/compressing vob to avi sucks, so I'm not even going to try.

Okay, I added "Don Quixote Movie Theater Scene (long)" and "MGM Screen Test clips" to my SoulSeek share folder. Both are ISO files and can be burned to dvd with DVD Decrypter. A freeware viewing alternative is to unzip them with WinRAR and open and play them with DVD Shrink (right click the movie image for full screen.)

I tried to find the "Don Quixote Movie Theater Scene (long)" and "MGM Screen Test clips" with SoulSeek. Maybe I am doing something wrong. When I logged on to soulseek.com I clicked the soulseek button and then went to the soulseekunlimited.com web site and then registered by paying $41( $26 for unlimited service and then was also charged $14 for "malware" software which I didn't request). I then downloaded the 360 share pro software and searched under Orson Welles and I didn't see the above files. I then searched under "Don Quixote Movie Theater" and "MGM Screen Test clips" and then wound up on another web site "NetFreeMovies unlimited movie downloads" asking for another $17.88 to sign up. There has to be a less expensive way to see a 6 minute video than to spend a total of $58.88.

Ouch. I posted the correct link at the top of this thread, namely slsknet.org. SoulSeekUnlimted is a different entity entirely. SoulSeek is freeware, and I would never use or endorse here any sort of pay service. Sounds like you have a valid claim to refute the charges you incurred.

Hate to say it Hadje: I was shuffled by SoulSeek to some outfit which charged me $61 I can't afford, and somehow ended up on Limewire. Limewire was unable, the last time I looked, to download Don Quijote for me.

No good deed goes unscrewed up.

As our newbie, rizibo, remarks: ' There has to be a less expensive way . . . '

And a more efficient one.

Oops. I didn't notice the soulseek link in the initial thread. I was looking for hours on the wrong web site, www.soulseekunlimited.com, instead of slsknet.org. I was so frustrated that I thought the web site's name should be changed to www.desperatepoorsoulseekingforever.com. I went on the right web site and downloaded the soulseek for free and was warned by the web site about other web sites charging money. On the right web site I couldn't find the don quixote file under "orson welles" nor "don quixote movie theater scene". Instead I found the don quixote movie theater scene when I searched under "movie theater". I have a fast dsl connection but it looks like it may take me around 90 to 120 minutes to download the file (I'm still downloading right now). Thanks Hadji for listing the large number of audio files under the "orson welles" search. I having been wanting to see the Don Quixote Movie Theater scene for a while and I also thank you for providing this (hopefully I can finish downloading it and unzip it correctly). I apologize for the previous negative tread.

I'm sorry it didn't show up under the Orson Welles query. I guess I have so many files that maybe it doesn't list them all at once? If you found any of my files, you can right click and select "browse user's files;" that should bring up everything. Another nice right-click option is "download containing folder," which does just that - everything in the folder. Maybe also the search engine works best with only a couple keywords. Searching for Don Quioxte might have brought it up too.

I was finally able to download the file from soulseek. I couldn't open the file until I down loaded WinRAR to "extract" the file and the I downloaded DVD Shrink and was able to see the clip. The scene is great. Don Quixote watches a movie with a battle sequence and trys to join the battle by attacking the screen. I remember reading that there was another scene in a drive-in theater where the movie screen goes on fire after Don Quixote attacks it. Thanks Hadji for posting the scene.
