Mr. Hadji:

I cannot thank you enough for making readily available and easily accessible this unbelievable treasure trove of Welles material. A whole new world has been opened up for me. Your heroic effort is much appreciated.

Thanks.

A page like that is something I've wanted to see online for a long time. But if one existed, I never found it.

Dear Store,

I've just arrived back from a trip to New York and teach my Welles class in the next hour. I've just looked at the Multimedia section and will certainly recommend it to my class who should also be constantly looking at wellesnet.com at my insistence. Congratulations again and to Jeff for moderating such an indispensable site.

Store Hadji, Congratulations on an excellent collection of Welles links.

Here's one that seems to have been overlooked:

1937 Shakespeare Festival. August 30, 1937. Final program of 8. CBS net. "Twelfth Night". Sustaining. Tallulah Bankhead, Cedric Hardwicke, Orson Welles, Mark Smith, Estelle Winwood, Robert Strauss, Helen Menken, Burford Hampden, John Griggs, Ray Collins, Niles Welch, Sydney Smith, Conway Tearle (narrator), Victor Bey (arranger, conductor), William Shakespeare (author), Brewster Morgan (adaptor, producer). Length: 59:31. Filesize: 47.7Mb.

I don't think mediafire is reliable for long-term storage, so this should probably be moved to a more permanent host.

Thanks, Night Listener!

Just updated the Mutlimedia page to include your link.

As to 'not for long-term storage,' I'll do something else for that show when the link dies.

An amazing job, Store. Simply amazing. Some of those Shakespeare items I had never even heard of.

Also, these variety programs contain all kinds of little gems and oddities. The 11-05-44 program for Chase and Sandborn has a very amusing skit about half way through the program where Welles and Edgar Bergen travel 50 years into the future, to 1995!

Is there anyway you could add a way to download all the episodes of a
particular series at once it's a major pain to download these files one at a
time.

If you go to archive.org and do a keyword search for Welles, you'll get links to the pages there which compile the different series and collections. Each of those pages has a Download All link.

Also, if you have BitComet (and perhaps other torrent software) then you get a Download All option on Internet Explorer when you right-click on a web page, and if you use Firefox you can install the FlashGot plugin which also gives you a Download All option for every web page.

A few of the links on the Multimedia page you'll have to go to directly: those for eSnips, Box and SpiralFrog. Eventually those will get posted on archive.org as well.
