Chimes at Midnight Italian Issue.

The new issue from SINISTER Films (Italy ) is available through Amazon.It. Price 11 euros 99 cents. This is the best that I have seen.
It is Significently Better than the Spanish edition and the recent UK issue is junk when viewed A and B.
The video is clean with great shadow and depth and excellent clarity. The sound is fine. The Italian company has had access to a fine quality print to work from.
I can reccomend this issue to anyone. Now I can just relax and enjoy it.

Great news, although it's region 2 only.

Just try going to http://www.amazon.it or click on the link above in the other post and then sign in as an existing amazon customer and pay for it your normal way(if credit card).
It may be written in Italian but the boxes that one fills and/or ticks are the same. I signed in with my Amazon UK email and password then searched for
DVD in left box - Orson Welles Falstaff in right box.Click on it and buy with the one click ordering.Try it anyway.

Good find Scotsman. I watched the Italian issue just yesterday -the picture and sound quality is very good. On the downside the extra of the separate soundtrack tracks didn't work properly with the music keeping cutting out. Has anyone else had this problem? Also does anyone know if there has been a separate music CD issue for Chimes ever been released?

Hey everyone,

I've a question regarding the Italian issue of Chimes. I went ahead and ordered what I thought was the same disk from the UK version of Amazon here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004CQH3RQ/ref=oss_product. However, I see that it was released from Cecchi Gori Home Video rather than from Sinister Film. I also noticed that the DVD only comprised 4.17 GB rather than a more normal number of 6-8 GB. Can someone with the Italian release from Sinister confirm whether or not the version I have is the same as the Italian release? Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

It is the same issue. If you look at the back-bottom left in very small print It says Sinister Video distributed by Cecchi..ect.
However it is significently more expensive than ordering direct from amazon.it

Thanks so much for responding. Unfortunately I'd already ordered the disc before posting. I see the small print on the back cover which you reference. If you have the disc from amazon.it, could you confirm that the disc contains 4.17 GB when you insert it into a computer? While I can clearly see the quality of my disc surpasses that of the Spanish edition, I just want to confirm it's the authentic Italian edition, not some recompressed knockoff. Again, thanks so much for responding!
