I was wondering, as I searched online for the Touch of Evil book, edited by Terry Comito ... I see the paperback for around $15-20, but the hardcover edition for upwards of $175-300. And all I can wonder is .... WHY? Does the hardcover have some immersurable value? Why is the hardcover so expensive? If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it.

The book should be exactly the same, but I think the hardbacks in that Rutgers series were produced in much fewer quantities, so some people are trying to profit off that scarcity. Pointless really, unless you absolutely need a hardback version for some reason.

The hardback version is designed for direct-to-library sales where publishers make most of their income. However, Rutger's TOUCH OF EVIL book is not as good as their CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT and you always can have recourse to your local photocopy firm - unless you are a collector.
