Those are both great Welles sites, Gregory. The Unseen Welles page especially is a terrific contribution. It sure would be great to track down some of those unfilmed and unpublished screenplays. In a sense, they ARE Welles movies, that just happen to exist on paper instead of film.

As for the archives, I was amazed at how many Welles books you listed. Do you own all those? Many of those mag and newpaper articles I have already, but some I've never even heard of, like the black actress who claims she smoked weed with Welles (of course, Welles later told Bogdanovich that marijuana didn't do anything for you except give you incredibly bad breath, so obviously he didn't get high on it -how then, to explain the hallucinatory quality of his films?). That article would be fun to read, as would the one about Welles burning down Cybill Shepard's house.

Thanks for the kind words. As we speak, the archives staff are prowling the dark alleys of Hollywood and beyond, searching for more 'secret papers'. Replying to the 3 or 4 of you who asked, yes, those Welles books and magazine are owned by the archives, but don't worry, we all wear our white gloves and face masks, unearthing more material to add to the ouvre of Wellesmania.
