The Unknown Orson Welles in LA - Fabulous rare material shown

Archives, Classes, Award Ceremonies, Festivals, etc.

I'm not much interested in personal attacks or bickering.

But I would be interested to read any details of what Ms. Kodar and Mr. Graver had to say in LA this past weekend. To anyone who attended, please report whatever you can.

L French, thanks for your lengthy post. I look forward to seeing the clips of Wind this weekend in NY.

Thanks,
JBrooks

To Johnny Dale - you neednt worry, Oja has the utmost respect of the members of this board. She is a wonderful woman who was a friend and confidante to Welles right to the end. She was perhaps the kindest friend he had his entire life. We are indebted to her that he was happy when he died.
You may remember me from such sites as imdb, amazon and criterionforum as Ben Cheshire.

Dear Blunted:

I apoligize if I overreacted, but I felt your comments coming on top of Blake Pellerin's really did a great disservice to Gary Graver, a man who worked for Welles for 15 years whenever he was asked to, often without any financial compensation whatsoever! So without Gary, many of the later Welles projects and all the test footage would probably never have even existed, because what is not really known, is that Gary really served not only as Orson's D.P., but also as his production manager, arranging locations, setting up rentals, and even finding Orson a house to live in on Stanley Drive in LA when he came back to Hollywood in the 70's.
So I think what I was saying should have been aimed more at Blake Pellerin's remarks in the locked thread, because Gary is quite obviously, no longer a young guy, and sometimes he pauses, speaks slowly, or has trouble remembering things, but my God, give the guy a break... he's now in his sixties, and still remembers quite a bit, and just because he's not as spry as he once was, why should he get trashed, especially by Welles fans?

From what I gather, Pellerin's post are no longer welcome here, and I can't say I blame managment for that.
But you're right, I just exploded and slammed you in a rage, because Gary does read this site, and I found your comments about Gary (in agreement with Pellerin) to be very anti-Welles, and felt that if Gary saw them, it might be very depressing to him. So thanks for removing them, as I have done about my previous negative comments towards you.

how can pellarin be kept out, it's just a handle used by a regular member, like your handle, and my handle. he just has to sign up with another handle.
