Can’t make it to one of those Orson Welles centenary film festivals this year?

No sweat. Turner Classic Movies is bringing the party to your home on Friday nights in May.

Nineteen Welles films will air on TCM as the classic movies channel salutes the 100th anniversary of the late filmmaker’s birth.

The lineup is quite impressive and the offerings include the seldom seen Chimes at Midnight and the recovered and restored Too Much Johnson.

Here is what to expect:

May 1Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, Jane Eyre and Too Much Johnson
May 8 Touch of Evil, The Lady From Shanghai,  Mr. Arkadin and Journey Into Fear.  (Based solely on running times, Mr. Arkadin appears to be the comprehensive version and Journey Into Fear is the U.S. release).
May 15Chimes at Midnight, Othello and Macbeth.
May 22 The Stranger, The Trial, Immortal Story and F For Fake
May 29The Third Man, Tomorrow Is Forever, The V.I.P.s and A Man For All Seasons

The full TCM schedule for May 2015 can found online at www.tcm.com/schedule/monthly.html?tz=est&sdate=2015-5-01

Not to be greedy, but With Orson Welles: Stories from a Life in Film would have been a nice addition to the lineup. Perhaps, it will show up on TCM’s sister station, Turner Network Television, which first aired the BBC production 25 years ago.
