Problem with ‘Citizen Kane’ 4K UHD, Blu-ray set?

Reportedly, the problem isn’t with the eagerly anticipated 4K UHD disc but with the version of the film found on the Blu-ray.
“(It) looks fine until the 30-minute mark, at which point the image turns all gray and milky with the black levels and sharpness totally out the window.”

‘Casino Royale’ getting Blu-ray release in Britain

The James Bond parody film “Casino Royale” with David Niven as 007 and Orson Welles as the villainous Le Chiffre will be released on Blu-ray in Great Britain.
Final Cut Entertainment will release the disc on November 15.

Criterion ‘Citizen Kane’ packed with special features

Along with a new restoration, Criterion is loading the box set with special features including the BBC documentary “The Complete Citizen Kane,” a televised 1979 reunion of Orson Welles and former partner John Houseman and no fewer than three audio commentaries. The 80th anniversary set is slated for release on November 23.

‘Citizen Kane’ among first Criterion 4K Ultra HD discs

The Criterion Collection announced its first 4K UHD releases: “Citizen Kane,” “Menace II Society,” “The Piano,” “Mulholland Dr.,” “The Red Shoes” and “A Hard Day’s Night.” The 4K UHD/Blu-ray combo packs will be out in November.

‘Black Magic’ with Orson Welles coming to Blu-ray

The 1949 costume drama “Black Magic” (aka “Cagliostro”) starring Orson Welles will have its Blu-ray debut this fall.
Welles reportedly had a hand in directing some scenes in “Black Magic,” which was filmed in Italy between October 1947 and January 1948.

‘Mr. Arkadin’ collection released on Blu-ray in Germany

A new Blu-ray release of “Mr. Arkadin” with three different cuts of the film has been released in Germany. It is coded as a Region B disc.
The release comes months after the Criterion Collection listed its similar DVD set as out of print.

‘Orson Welles Great Mysteries Vol. 2’ DVD set for release in UK

Network, which released the DVD “Orson Welles Great Mysteries Volume 1” in the United Kingdom last year, will release the second and final volume on October 26. Produced by Anglia Television, the 25-minute long episodes were originally broadcast by Britain’s ITV between September 1973 and February 1974. Thirteen episodes were featured on the first volume and the remaining 13 shows are contained on Volume 2.
