The Orson Welles centennial may be over at the end of 2015, but there will still be an opportunity to see some of his greatest films on the big screen early next year.

The Film Forum in New York City plans a Shakespearean tribute in January 2016 to mark the 400th anniversary of The Bard’s  death.

Not surprising, three of Orson Welles’ big screen adaptations will be featured.

Filmoteca Española’s DCP restoration of Chimes at Midnight will be shown daily January 1-12.

On January 13, Carlotta Film’s DCP restoration of Othello and a 35mm restored print from the UCLA Film Archive of the 108-minute “Scottish” version of Macbeth will be screened.

The first major Welles retrospect in 2015, Orson Welles 100, took place at the Film Forum. Its featured guests included film historian Joseph McBride, director William Friedkin and Welles’ surviving daughters, Chris Welles Feder and Beatrice Welles.

The Film Forum is located at 209 West Houston St.,>west of 6th Ave.
