“I passionately hate the idea of being with it. I think an artist has always to be out of step with his time.” – Orson Welles

The Goldenstein Gallery in Sedona, Arizona, will exhibit Welles & Welles – artwork created by Beatrice Welles and her late father, filmmaker Orson Welles, this month.
Coinciding with the Sedona International Film Festival, the Goldenstein Gallery will showcase sketches and paintings by Orson Welles and handbags designed by Beatrice Welles between February 21 and March 1.
Recognized as one of the top galleries in Arizona, Goldenstein Gallery has regularly exhibited works by Beatrice Welles in the past. The Orson Welles pieces are on loan from his youngest daughter. While some prints will be available for purchase, none of Welles’ original works will be sold.
Orson Welles spent a summer at the Chicago Art Institute after graduating from the Todd School for Boys. In 1931, he set out for a walking and painting tour of Ireland before embracing professional theater at the Gate Theatre in Dublin.
The Goldenstein Gallery is located at 70 Dry Creek Road in West Sedona. The gallery may be reached at (928) 204-1765 or email info@goldensteinart.com
