Eight films directed by Orson Welles, as well as his memorable performance in Carol Reed’s The Third Man, will be showcased at a tribute presented by the Jerusalem Cinematheque and Israel Film Archive throughout the month of February.
The lineup includesWelles 1946 thriller The Stranger, the first Hollywood film to make use of footage of Nazi death camps.
In addition to The Stranger and The Third Man, the lineup includes: Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, The Lady from Shanghai, Mr. Arkadin, Touch of Evil, The Trial and F for Fake.
The Jerusalem Cinematheque series kicks off with Citizen Kane on February 5 and runs through February 29.

The Jerusalem Cinematheque was founded in 1973 by Lia van Leer. It was originally located in Beit Agron in the center of Jerusalem. A new building overlooking the walls of the Old City opened in 1981. In addition to screening halls, the Jerusalem Cinematheque houses the Israel Film Archive, an archive of films from the 1920s to the present day.
