Film historian Joseph McBride recently took part in a remote video talk with members of Milwaukee Film.
McBride, author of three books on Welles, discussed the 1946 thriller The Stranger, as well as The Other Side of the Wind, which was shot in the 1970s and completed in 2018. McBride was a cast member and a consultant on its completion.
A Milwaukee native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, McBride is a biographer, screenwriter and professor in the Cinema Department at San Francisco State University.
During the course of the 48-minute April 29 appearance, McBride provided an overview of Welles’ Hollywood career and fielded questions submitted by Milwaukee Film members.
