The Museum of the Moving Image in New York will screen two Orson Welles classics in the coming weeks, The Lady from Shanghai and The Magnificent Ambersons.
The films are being shown as part of the museum’s Snubbed Forever series from February 1 to March 9. It is billed as the Museum of the Moving Image’s “annual anti-tribute to the Oscars by highlighting those films and figures who have never won the little golden guy.”
The Magnificent Ambersons will be shown on February 8 and 9 with The Lady from Shanghai screened on March 8 and 9. Other films in the series include Peter Bogdanovich’s Saint Jack, Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo and John Ford’s The Quiet Man.
The Museum of Moving Image is located at 36-01 35th Avenue in Astoria. It is the only U.S. museum devoted to film, television, and digital media.
