Munich Film Museum to screen ‘The Deep,’ ‘The Dreamers’ and other Orson Welles rarities

The Munich Film Museum, repository to much of Orson Welles’ unfinished movies, will open its vaults July 7 to Aug. 2 as part of a massive screening of his works .

The Welles series in Germany, organized by museum director Stefan Drössler, comes two months after the centennial of the late director’s birth on May 6.

Many of Welles’ celebrated completed movies will be shown – but it is the unfinished projects that will excite many fans.  The offerings include the 115-minute work print of The Deep, 42 minutes of footage from The Other Side of the Wind and 25 minutes of edited scenes from The Dreamers.

The Munich Film Museum’s edits of the unfinished Magic Show, Moby Dick, and a 1960 stage performance in Dublin will also be screened this summer. A full list from the English language version of Munich Film Museum website appears below:
