Our friends across the pond have an evening of Orson Welles-related movie and television music to look forward to this fall.
The Colchester Arts Centre in Essex will present The Music of Orson Welles on Sunday, November 24.
Composer Jason Frederick will lecture and lead live performances of Welles-related film and television scores written by the likes of Bernard Herrmann (Citizen Kane), John Barry (Orson Welles’ Great Mysteries), Henry Mancini (Touch of Evil), Anton Karas (The Third Man), Michel Legrand (The Other Side of the Wind) and more.
Tickets are priced at £8.00 and £7.00 and available for purchase online at colchesterartscentre.com/events/lecture/the-music-of-orson-welles.
An award-winning musician and composer, Frederick has written original music for films such as 101 Dalmatians 2 : Patch’s London Adventure, Murder Among Friends and Bela Lugosi: The Forgotten King. He has composed music for television as well, including scores for ABC’s Two Sisters, NBC’s Darcy’s Wildlife and The Disney Channel’s The Replacements.
