
Carlotta Films US is presenting Orson Welles’ Othello in a brand new restoration for theatrical release in the U.S. Othello was awarded the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1952.
The restored Othello opened at Film Forum in New York City on April 25 for a two-week run with six screenings per day and at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago for a one-week run.
It will continue on to other theaters around the country. So far, the confirmed dates are:

- Zinema 2 (Duluth, Minn.), May 27
- Thalian Hall, (Wilmington, NC), June 12
- The Brattle Theatre (Boston), June 27-30
In an interview with Wellesnet last month, Welles’ youngest daughter, Beatrice Welles, said a blu-ray and DVD release of the digitally restored Othello is in the works. Carlotta will handle the European home video release.
