Oja Kodar video interview available online

Noted film scholar Jonathan Rosenbaum has unearthed his extensive 78-minute interview with Croatian actress-sculptor Oja  Kodar on his blog. The interview was conducted during the Orson Welles centenary celebration in the late filmmaker’s adopted hometown of Woodstock, Illinois.

Conducted in May 2015, the interview can be found at https://vimeo.com/149237341. The case sensitive password is Woodstock.

Rosenbaum is widely known for his familiarity with Welles’ career and also enjoys a friendship with Kodar, who was Welles’ companion and artistic parter in the final years of his life. The result is a relaxed and informative interview.

The film critic for the Chicago Reader for two decades and author of more than a dozen books on cinema, Rosenbaum edited This Orson Welles, co-written by Welles and Peter Bogdanovich; and penned Discovering Orson Welles.

Kodar collaborated with Welles on The Other Side of the Wind and F for Fake, as well as several unrealized projects including The Dreamers.
