Orson Welles paintings included in Sedona exhibit

Goldenstein Gallery celebrates its first anniversary at its new location at 150 State Route 179 in Sedona, Arizona, with an art exhibit entitled Decades in the Making.

The exhibit will showcase 30 artists and include paintings by Orson Welles, who lived in Sedona with his wife, Paoala, and youngest daughter, Beatrice, in the early 1970s.

Decades in the Making kicks off with an opening reception on Friday, March 2, from 5 to 8 p.m.

For those unable to make the trek to the Southwest, limited edition glicee on canvas of 13 sketches, watercolors and oils by Welles are available in various sizes from the Sedona gallery. Welles spent a summer at the Chicago Art Institute after graduating from the Todd School for Boys. In 1931, he set out for a walking and painting tour of Ireland before embracing professional theater at the Gate Theatre in Dublin.

During the 2015 Sedona International Film Festival, Goldenstein Gallery featured the exhibit Welles & Welles,  paintings by Orson Welles and handbags designed by Beatrice Welles.

Goldenstein Gallery was recently named the best place to shop in Sedona by USA Today.
