Fresh from his weekend appearance on CBS This Morning, producer Filip Jan Rymsza – joined by The Other Side of the Wind co-star Peter Bogdanovich – made the pitch for end money to complete Orson Welles’ last film to National Public Radio on Tuesday.
The two men discussed the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, which has raised more than $143,000 in its first six days. The 40-day drive seeks to raise $2 million.
Bogdanovich summed up the movie’s plot for NPR’s Audie Cornish, while Rymsza provided an overview of the difficulty in completing the movie since filming wrapped in early 1976.
The two made it clear during the five-minute segment that Welles left behind a 40-minute workprint, scripts and detailed editing notes.
Bogdanovich acknowledged it is artistically intimidating to complete a Welles’ film, but added, “We will just do the best we can.”
