Now available in paperback, Peter Bogdanovich Interviews collects 13 of the director / film historian’s best, most comprehensive, and most insightful interviews, many long out of print and several never before published in their entirety.
The interviews span more than 40 years of directing with Bogdanovich talking about triumphs like The Last Picture Show and What’s Up, Doc?, and such overlooked gems as Daisy Miller and They All Laughed.
Assembled and edited by acclaimed critic Peter Tonguette (Orson Welles Remembered, The Films of James Bridges), the paperback is available from University Press of Mississippi.
The book contains numerous references to Bogdanovich’s friend Orson Welles. The book includes as interview Tonguette conducted with Bogdanovich that focused on Welles. (It originally appeared in Orson Welles Remembered.)
Bogdanovich co-authored with Welles the book This Is Orson Welles and co-starred in Welles’ still-unfinished movie The Other Side of the Wind.
Peter Bogdanovich Interviews is now available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other online retailers.
Tonguette, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Sight & Sound, Film Comment, and many other publications, is the author of a forthcoming critical biography of Bogdanovich.
