Costumes for “Citizen Kane” were designed by Edward Stevenson. He had been named head designer at RKO Pictures in 1936, five years before the release of “Citizen Kane.”

He also designed the gowns seen in Welles’ “Journey Into Fear.”

Stevenson won an Oscar, along with Edith Head, in 1961 for their work on the film “Facts of Life.”

In television, Stevenson was the costume designer for three popular series starring Lucille Ball.
