The 4k remastered “The Lady From Shanghai” arrives as a Blu-ray/ DVD combo from TCM Vault on January 27.
The video carries a $29.95 list price tag, but is available on the TCM website for $24.99.
TCM Vault Collection titles are produced in small quantities for a limited time.
According to the website, “In partnership with The Film Foundation, Turner Classic Movies and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment proudly present this DVD/Blu-ray combo pack of The Lady from Shanghai (1947) — the first-ever Blu-ray release of the film, featuring a brand-new 4k digital restoration from the original negative.”

The 4K restored version was screened in October 2013 at the 57th BFI London Film Festival. The digital 4K restoration was overseen by Grover Crisp, senior vice president for Asset Management, Film Restoration and Digital Mastering for Sony Pictures Entertainment. He has overseen numerous restorations, including “The Bridge Over the River Kwai” and “Taxi Driver.”
Previously, “The Lady From Shanghai” was available on DVD from Columbia Pictures. It featured an audio commentary by Peter Bogdanovich.
