Japan’s IVC will release Orson Welles’ first two Hollywood films on Blu-ray after the start of the new year.
Citizen Kane and The Magnificent Ambersons will be released separately, and together as a limited edition box set, in Japan on January 29, 2016.
A Blu-ray release of The Magnificent Ambersons is of special interest since it has yet to be officially released on Blu-ray in the U.S. or Europe.
According to Blu-ray.com, The Magnificent Ambersons will be a single disc release, 1080p with an aspect ratio1.37:1 and Japanese subtitles.
Amazon.co.jp has it priced at ¥5184, roughly $42.75 U.S. dollars. While Blu-ray.com lists it as a Region A release, Amazon says it will be Region Free.
Few details are available at present.
