The Projection Booth has announced a May 2015 podcast examining Orson Welles’ still-to-be-released film The Other Side of the Wind.

Participants already lined up include Josh Karp, author of an upcoming book on The Other Side of the Wind, and noted Welles’ scholar Joseph McBride, who co-starred in the movie as film critic Mr. Pister. The two authors appeared together at a panel discussion in May 2013 in Woodstock, Illinois marking the 80th anniversary of the Todd Theatre Festival.

Projection Booth hosts Mike White and Rob St. Mary plan to make the podcast available beginning May 6 via iTunes, Stitcher, and www.projectionboothpodcast.com

May 6 would have been the celebrated filmmaker’s 100th birthday.

Last year, The Projection Booth released a superb podcast focusing on The Magnificent Ambersons.

Filmed between 1970 and 1976, The Other Side of the Wind tells the story of Jake Hannaford, an aging film director played by John Huston, who is trying to make a film, albeit with great difficulty. He is surrounded by flunkies, journalists and wanna-be’s, many of whom are not so subtly patterned after people in Welles’ life. In addition to Huston and McBride, the cast includes Peter Bogdanovich, Oja Kodar, Susan Strasberg, Norman Foster and Mercedes McCambridge.
