Speaking before a screening of Chimes at Midnight at the 21st annual Sedona International Film Festival, Beatrice Welles talked not only about the movie, but Orson Welles’ love of painting and start at the Gate Theatre in Dublin.
Working with Patrick Schweiss, executive director of the Sedona film festival, she helped put together a lineup that included Chimes at Midnight, Othello, Citizen Kane and Touch of Evil, as well as Chuck Workman’s recent documentary Magician: The Astonishing Life and Work of Orson Welles and a panel discussion on The Other Side of the Wind hosted by Josh Karp.
Despite a painful illness that makes it nearly impossible for her to sit and forces her to rely on forearm crutches to walk, she spoke at all of the Welles screenings and fielded questions from the audience.
