The Orson Welles radio classic War of the Worlds will staged next month near Perth, Australia.
Based on the Howard Koch radio script, the Lit Live production will utilize live actors, a Foley desk and live sound effects.
War of the Worlds will play at Venue 360 in Burswood, a suburb of Perth, on Friday, August 1; Saturday, August 2; Friday, August 8; and Saturday, August 9, 2025. Tickets are available online from humanitix.com
The Australian performance is produced by Lit Live creator Sarah McNeill and directed by Greg McNeill, who both will also be acting in the stage production with Will Mahoney and Ben Sutton .
Adapted from H.G. Wells’ 1898 sci-fi novel, the Mercury Theatre On the Air radio drama frightened some CBS radio listeners into believing Marians had invaded New Jersey on October 30, 1938.
