Thanks Mike. The old trading area was the best place to start. The changes look great.

I have made some adjustments to block malicious bots from accessing the website. (Google is always welcome).
I cannot imagine that this will impact regular users. If you have any problems, please let me know.
Thanks.

You definitely deserve thanks on improving this format. Access to the message board is now easier, new headings have appeared, and a new generation of interested people are now posting. :D

Mike has done the editing of the message board. (I have been touching up other aspects of the site).
What Mike is doing is a careful review and reduction. Posts with dead links, matters that are frankly no longer relevant (avatar use discussions from 2006) off-topic remarks, lapsed trade offers...
Several hundred posts of the 19,500 on the site have been removed or reassigned to different threads by Mike.
Mike has done a great job and he deserves all of our thanks.

...and thank you Ray, for all your great work on the main page, and being our "Bot-man"! We've eliminated about 150 threads so far, mainly the most obvious ones for trashing. If anyone has any suggestions for threads to be eliminated, let me know and we'll put it on the bubble.

Just an update:
In October 2012, Wellesnet witnessed 135,560 pages views - a record in its 11-year history.
Unique monthly visitors to the site averages 13,000 to 15,000. Our registered forum membership now tops 700.
Several new pages have been added to the main site.
Thanks to Mike for his continuing work on the forum and Larry for his writing.
We had two (very) brief outages as I attempted to upgrade the site and install a sitemap.
Our host, PrecisionEffect, and Jeff Wilson have been supportive in digging me out of holes I have dug.
If you have any suggestions, drop me a line at contactwellesnet@gmail.com

We will be adding a new photo page in the coming days. The Orson Welles Family Album will be pictures of Orson Welles with family, children and friends. We a have wealth of photos from his films in the Legacy pages, but this should capture another side of Orson Welles.

Ray, thanks for the terrific job on the family page!

It's great to see all the pictures together in one spot, many of which I hadn't seen before.

I'm sure Chris and Beatrice will like it as well.

Happy New Year!
Wellesnet ended 2012 with record breaking traffic to the website.
In December, we had 17,230 unique visitors, as well as 190,535 page views.
These numbers represent 13 percent increases over our previous activity highs.
The message board remains our most popular attraction. Kudos to Mike for all of his hard work on the forum.
A special nod to Jeff for establishing this site and Larry for all of his hard work here and on Facebook.
Of course, thanks to everyone who has posted, emailed a suggestion or sent a note of thanks.
As always, if you have any ideas, drop us a line at contactwellesnet@gmail.com
Have a wonderful 2013. :D

The video embed coding proved to be unstable so the Career Milestones and Sketchbook pages have been redone.
The Sketchbook page now features all SIX episodes in better quality.
Enjoy!

Visitors to wellesnet.com will notice a slight change beginning today. The template has been adjusted to 1024 pixels wide and to display the navigational sidebar on every page. The page banners have been revamped. Most photos have been resized to take advantage of the greater width.
