WHEN STRANGERS MARRY (retitled as BETRAYED)
Orson Welles thought very highly of this early William Castle film, now available on DVD. According to Simon Callow's Hello Americans, Welles wrote of this movie in his newspaper column, "It isn't as slick as Double Indemnity or as glossy as Laura, but it's better acted and better directed ... than either." Film historian Don Miller famously called it “the finest B-movie ever made.”
A few years later Castle would produce Welles's LADY FROM SHANGHAI.
