Orson Welles attended the private boarding school in Illinois from 1926 to 1931. The library’s display will include photographs of Welles during his years at Todd School.
The school opened in 1848 and closed its doors in 1954. The upcoming photographic exhibit will focus on Todd School during the 1920s and ’30s.
“Life at Todd School for Boys” will kick off with a reception on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m.
The photographic display will run in conjunction with Woodstock Celebrates’ “Orson Welles and the 80th Anniversary of the Todd Theatre Festival” on May 16-17. The 1934 festival was conceived by Welles and Todd headmaster Roger Hill.
Details on the 80th anniversary celebration may be found at the Woodstock Celebrates’ official website.
An Orson Welles Film Festival is also being held at Classic Cinemas Woodstock Theatre on May 16-18.
