Re: FX Feeney's new Welles book
Thanks. I've just ordered this (and other 2015 Welles books) for our library today to meet the budget deadline.
If there is anything else I can get them to acquire in the next 48 hours please let me know.

As far as it goes, this is a good interview. But what remains at issue is that hideous version of THE BIG BRASS RING. I wish Jonathan Rosenbaum had also interviewed Feeney and raised this issue.

Feeney's book is quietly getting some serious praise. Joe McBride on Facebook yesterday said it was brilliant, and Bogdanovich praised it highly in the DGA video we posted last week. The Feeney/Hickenlooper BBR movie wasn't bad; it managed to keep me engaged until the rather dull and maudlin ending, which was certainly a far cry from the haunting, almost nightmarish ambiguity of the Welles/Kodar screenplay.

For you Podcasts fans, there is an excellent interview with F.X. Feeney on The Road to Cinema Podcast. It's episode #54. He gives fascinating background on The Big Brass Ring. He's a true Welles fan and scholar.

They also interview editor Jonathon Braun, who worked with Welles in the 80s: https://jogroad.podbean.com/e/61-jonath ... -the-wind/WellesFan wrote:For you Podcasts fans, there is an excellent interview with F.X. (Don't want to get too far off topic but...) Yes, that interview with Jonathon Braun is also very interesting. Braun would show up at Welles' house and, depending on the director's mood, would work on a revolving slate of projects. Listening to the podcast, I was glad Braun was able to work on The Other Side of the Wind as an assistant editor. I wonder if there should be a separate thread about Welles-related podcasts. I've heard some good interviews with Joseph McBride and The Projection Booth did an excellent episode on TOSW.

Re: FX Feeney's new Welles book
This book sadly appears to be out of print and extremely hard to get a hold of at a reasonable price. There are a few copies from re-sellers on Amazon ranging from $500 to $1000! I don't even think there is a digital version available although I'm sure there was one when a few years back when the book was available. Disappointing but my fault I guess for not picking this up when it was published. I'll keep my fingers crossed a paperback version will be released at some point.
